The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) is deeply saddened by the passing of senior journalist Dhan Bahadur Malla at the age of 90.
According to the FNJ Doti Branch, Malla passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026 (Shrawan 4, 2083 B.S.), at his residence in Shaileshwari Tole, Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality–6. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and one daughter.
Malla began his journalism career in 2016 B.S. (1959 A.D.). In 2018 B.S. (1961 A.D.), he became the first district correspondent for the National News Agency (Rastriya Samachar Samiti – RSS) and served in that role for many years. In addition to journalism, he made significant contributions to literature, drama, music, and the fine arts.
The Federation of Nepali Journalists pays its heartfelt tribute to the late Dhan Bahadur Malla and prays for the eternal peace of his departed soul. At this time of profound grief, the Federation also extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and wishes them strength and courage to endure this irreparable loss.
