The Federation of Nepali Journalists has drawn its attention to the incident where Raju Thapa, Chairperson of Kathekhola Rural Municipality of Baglung, threatened journalist Khemraj Gautam 'Subas'.

According to the Baglung Chapter of the Federation, Thapa threatened Gautam, who is also an editor, via phone and message on the pretext of a news report published on Aadarsha Samachar Dot Com on June 11, 2026.

The Federation views this action by a responsible public representative resorting to intimidation instead of seeking a solution through established procedures if there were grievances regarding the news as an anti-press and irresponsible step.

The Federation condemns this act. And, it draws the serious attention of the concerned party to respect the constitutional rights of the press in the coming days and not to repeat such actions.
