The Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) is deeply saddened and shocked by the untimely demise of senior journalist Yubaraj Gautam at the age of 66

The Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) is deeply saddened and shocked by the untimely demise of senior journalist Yubaraj Gautam at the age of 66.

Gautam, who was taken to the Armed Police Force Hospital in Balambu for treatment after experiencing respiratory problems, passed away during the course of treatment on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Born in Ilam on February 21, 1960, Gautam had contributed to journalism for more than three decades. He worked for various newspapers, including Kantipur Daily, and was a former editor-in-chief of Gorkhapatra Daily. He was also actively involved in writing alongside journalism.

With the demise of Gautam, the Nepali journalism sector has lost a skilled, experienced, and dedicated journalist.

The FNJ pays heartfelt tribute to the late Gautam and wishes eternal peace for the departed soul. The FNJ also extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family, wishing them strength and courage to cope with this difficult and sorrowful time.
